GovFresh TV: Philip Ashlock On “Open 311” & Civic Engagement

by May 10th, 2010

From a great round-up post at Mashable by O’Reilly Media’s Government 2.0 Washington correspondent Alex Howard, here’s a good find; an interview by GovFresh.tv with Philip Ashlock of Open Plans, discussing the benefits of fuller transparency and the centrality of local government to civic engagement. Open Plans is a New York-based 501c3 founded in 1999, which describes its mission as to “inform and engage communities through journalism and open source software.”

Ashlock is the Open Government Program Manager at Open Plans, also an innovative web designer and grad of Western Washington U. In Bellingham.
